Hi guys!!! Since I haven’t had too much time for reading, I’m back with another tag. The Frozen Book Tag!!! I love Frozen and have basically since it came out and I was so excited for Frozen 2. I’ve already seen it once and I really want to go see it again soon because…
I wasn’t tagged to do this but I saw Lauren do it and I knew I had to get in on this!!
Let It Go – a book you wouldn’t mind parting with
Hamilton and Peggy, I read this book a few months and it was a gift so I feel terrible saying so but this book did nothing for me and took forever to read. I am planning on going through my books in the spring and donating some and this one will probably be in that pile.
In Summer – a book you think should only be read in Summer
With the Fire on High, I’m not sure what it is but the main character reminds me of summer in a way I can’t describe. I know the cover gives off fall vibes but I feel like it’s great for summer. (I have a lot more answers if this was a question about winter lol)
Fixer Upper – a book you wish had an alternate ending
They Both Die at the End, Listen I know it had to happen. I know it’s in the title but I got so upset at the end of this book that I chucked it across the hotel room I was in and screamed.
Olaf – a book you’d like to give a warm hug
Coral, the main characters and I all need a warm hug after that book. I felt so bad for all of them the whole time and I want to wrap them up and protect them forever.
Elsa – a book that made you so mad you just wanted to freeze it
Actually to my utter surprise, my answer is the same as Lauren. The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett. It seems like we both had our own issues with it but trust me when I say, I hated this book.
Anna & Kristoff – your favorite book couple
Okay can I just say…. I love Anna & Kristoff so much more now that I have seen Frozen 2. However bookwise my favorite couple has to be… Rhen and Harper from A Curse So Dark and Lonely.
Anna & Elsa – your favorite sibling relationship in a book
I really loved the relationships between of all of the girls inHouse of Salt and Sorrows.
Prince Hans of the Southern Isles – a villain that seemed good at first, but ended up causing a heap of trouble
ummmmmmm. Catherine from Heartless. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before but I was rooting for her so much and then it all went down hill.
I highly recommend y’all go out to see Frozen 2 in theaters and then run to my twitter (bookswithdana) so we can talk/scream about it.
Today I’m sharing with you a blog tour for a book I am so excited about. I’m not going to lie, when I opened this book, I stared at in awe for about 10 minutes. Anyone who knows me knows that I love Disney almost more than anything. I have wanted to work for the company since I was 15 and I just recently was at WDW for my third visit with plans for a fourth.
Please know that these are my own thoughts and feeling about this book and the Disney company as a whole. I am incredibly blessed to have received a copy of this book but it in no way swayed my opinion on it.
Discover what it’s like to report to work every day for The Walt Disney Company. Step behind the scenes to immerse yourself in one “ordinary” day at Disney. In addition to the book, the Disney+ team was on hand to capture stories along the way. A full-length documentary and 52 short-form episodes expand the profiles and delve deeper into the essence of what it’s like to be a Disney cast member.
On a Thursday in 2019, a small army of photographers and videographers scattered across the globe to capture what goes on beyond those tantalizing “Cast Members Only” doors – whether eavesdropping on historic endeavors or typical tasks. All the photos in this book were taken on that single Thursday, beginning early in Tokyo and following the sun around the world through Shanghai, Hong Kong, Paris, Madrid, the Bahamas, Costa Rica, and dozens of places throughout the United States. More than 40 hours after it began, the day ended as the sun set on the Aulani resort in Hawaii.
On that day, some 80 Cast Members agreed to open up their workshops, dressing rooms, kitchens, cubicles, TV studios, labs, locomotive engines – and some even more surprising and diverse work spaces. They also shared their stories: childhood dreams and chapters, career pivots and triumphs, workaday hurdles and joys. It was just a day in the life, as extraordinary as any other day at Disney. As any Cast Member can tell you, a Disney job is less a destination than a limitless journey. And for just One Day at Disney, we can all tag along for the ride.

As many of you probably know, I love Disney so much. When I was turning sixteen, my family gave me the option to pick where we would go on our family vacation that year. Before I even considered the other options, I said Disney World. That year, I was old enough (and lucky enough) to be able to go on a tour called “Key to the Kingdom.” We got up super early and met a guide in an almost empty and unopened Magic Kingdom. On this tour I got to go into the tunnels under Walt Disney World and all I did was fall more and more in love. For some people, seeing behind the magic can ruin things but for me, it just showed me how truly magical Disney is.
This book brought me right back to that feeling. As a young girl, I wanted to be a cast member but I don’t think I ever truly understood how many jobs and cast members there are at Disney. Getting an inside look into jobs I never even knew existed like Cyril’s job of Fruit and Vegetable sculptor at Disneyland Paris or Korey’s job with Adventures by Disney was amazing. Truly, Disney is a remarkable company that has so many different areas. They also cover some of the people who play in ABC shows which I thought was great to truly show you the span of the company.
One of my other favorite things about this book is that you get to learn a bit personally about each and every cast member they feature. One of my most commonly asked questions when I start to get to know someone is what is your favorite Disney movie? So I loved that they included either the cast members favorite movie or attraction.
I personally can’t wait to watch One Day at Disney on Disney+ and learn more about the company I have always loved.
Let me know if you plan to watch the documentary on Disney+!!!
I’m a little behind on getting this up since it’s already the 5th of December but that’s okay. Here is a list of what I hope to read this month.
This month so far, I believe I only have two ARCS I need to read.
The Secret Messenger is due out December 12th 2019 so look for my review that day. I love historical fiction so I was glad to get this through Netgalley.
I also want to get a head start on my blog post of Jane Anonymous which comes out January 7th of 2020. I am lucky to be on a blog tour for this book so I want to make sure I get everything up and done early.
This is on my list for the second or third month in a row (whoops). I finally started it last month but it was towards the end so I’m only about a quarter of the way through.
Almost identically, this is What If It’s Us second month on my TBR and I am also very slowly reading this one!!
I plan on reading and finishing the Scythe series by start of the new year but I might ask for them for christmas so it kind of depends.
Last year for Christmas, I was gifted the Wicked series. I think I am going to start Wicked this month and then see I can also fit the second one in as well and then finish the series in January.
I am hoping to read more than these 8 books but I want to leave room for new books or books from the library. Let me know if there is anything I should try to pick up!
Borrowed, Bought or ARC: This was an ARC granted to me through NetGalley and the publishers. I am very thankful for this opportunity. All thoughts published below are my honest and true opinion.
Where did I get it?: As stated above, I got this from NetGalley.
Author: by Joseph Brennan, editor
Publisher: University Of Iowa Press
Genre/s: LGBT+, nonfiction
Number of Pages: 296
Release Date: December 1st 2019
In this first-ever comprehensive examination of queerbaiting, fan studies scholar Joseph Brennan and his contributors examine cases that shed light on the sometimes exploitative industry practice of teasing homoerotic possibilities that, while hinted at, never materialize in the program narratives. Through a nuanced approach that accounts for both the history of queer representation and older fan traditions, these essayists examine the phenomenon of queerbaiting across popular TV, video games, children’s programs, and more.
Contributors: Evangeline Aguas, Christoffer Bagger, Bridget Blodgett, Cassie Brummitt, Leyre Carcas, Jessica Carniel, Jennifer Duggan, Monique Franklin, Divya Garg, Danielle S. Girard, Mary Ingram-Waters, Hannah McCann, Michael McDermott, E. J. Nielsen, Emma Nordin, Holly Eva Katherine Randell-Moon, Emily E. Roach, Anastasia Salter, Elisabeth Schneider, Kieran Sellars, Isabela Silva, Guillaume Sirois, Clare Southerton
I don’t normally read nonfiction books and I especially try to stay away from LGBT+ based nonfiction books because I often have issues with how they talk about the community. However, when I saw this book I was automatically interested. I have heard the term queerbaiting often used while talking about shows that I love and wish had LGBT+ characters. I was interested mostly in seeing what shows/movies they would talk about and if any of the ones I had felt “queerbaited” would be included. They all were. As a lesbian, most of my interest lies with the sections of this book where they talk about Rizzoli and Isles, Once Upon A Time and Supergirl. I felt validated in my feelings of these shows as I read this book. They also included many other shows and popular fandoms.
I feel this is a good book to explain exactly what queerbaiting is and why it hurts/upsets so many people. That being said, it did take a while to read because of the style of book it is so I would break it into sections if you plan to read this.
Hi y’all!! Even though I’ve been back for about a week as I post this, I still feel like I am catching up from going away! As I thought, this month was a little less book and blog focused and that’s okay. It was so nice to get away for about a week and a half. Let me fill you in on what blog and book things I did do before I tell you all about my trip!
I don’t have a lot here because for the most of our trip, I didn’t read anyone’s posts! I would say I’m sorry but it was the best decsion for me and my wife so….
Again, this month because we traveled from the 6th to the 17th, we didn’t do much else other than drive and explore where we were. However, while we traveled, when we had time for TV we watched a lot of Food Network.
As soon as we got home, we signed up for Disney+ and started watching Lilo and Stitch the Series.
I also started That’s So Raven and the Tangled Series on my own. As well as, The Crown on Netflix.
We saw Frozen 2 and we both (mostly) loved it.
Obviously the biggest thing to happen to me this month was that I got married. I’m sure most of you already know this because I never stop talking about it. On November 6th, my wife and I left home with her best friend and drove down to Georgia.
The next day, we picked up my best friend from the airport. We met many years ago online and this was the first time we actually got to see each other. It was so emotional for me because I have loved this woman for what feels like forever. To know she flew out in the middle of the night for my wedding is so special to me. I spent that whole day holding onto her and gushing over the fact that she was finally there with me. I am so lucky, blessed, grateful she did this for me.
On November 8th, we said I do! It was amazing. My best friend helped me get ready and then she walked me down the aisle (again so special). I am so happy to finally be married and know that I will have Alice for the rest of our lives. After spending one more morning with our friends, we all went our separate ways and Alice and I headed to Walt Disney World.
I’ve been to WDW twice before this and Alice had never been so it was an amazing trip for us. We spent 6 days at the resort and 4 of it in the parks. We got to meet up with a friend of mine from high school which was so nice. I haven’t seen her in years so it was nice to see her again. We spent most of our time in Magic Kingdom but we made sure to explore all of the parks. We went to the Disney christmas party which was fun but I’m not sure if I would do it again.
We also saw a ton of characters, including Rapunzel who we saw FOUR times because she is my favorite princess. We finally got to dine at Be Our Guest, The Beauty and The Beast themed restaurant which I have wanted to dine in since it opened in 2012. Needless to say, I was over the moon and the food was AMAZING. We also dined at the Grand Floridian to have a character breakfast where we met Alice, The Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins and Winnie the Pooh.
Honestly this trip was even better than I ever could have imagined it to be. Even though we had some not so great experiences, I know that when I look back on this trip, they won’t be what I think of. I know this because even just thinking of our trip and how happy I was, makes me tear up. I can’t wait to go back and we are already talking about how and when we want to.
I can’t believe it is already time to do another Down the TBR. Time is really flying by, Christmas and the New Year will be here before we know it.

4/10 isn’t the best I’ve done but hey, you win some you lose some!
I totally slacked on doing this in September, mainly because I was on a no-buy and wasn’t allowed to buy books until I read a good portion of books I had bought in August.
However…. that didn’t mean that books couldn’t be gifted to me. Here are the five books that Leelynn so kindly gave me in September.
Now with September coming to a close and October somehow already here, I was done with a fair amount of the books Leelynn had given me and I was thinking ahead to November when we would drive down the east coast and back. Clearly, I was going to need something to do. I was given a 40-50 dollar budget and sent off into the world. This is what I came home with…
Those are the books I got in September and October. I think I will put myself back on a low-buy now that we are home, at least until after the holidays. Let me know if you have read any of these!

There is more than one way to drown.
Coral has always been different, standing out from her mermaid sisters in a society where blending in is key. Worse yet, she fears she has been afflicted with the dreaded Disease, said to be carried by humans—emotions. Can she face the darkness long enough to surface in the light?
Above the sea, Brooke has nothing left to give. Depression and anxiety have left her feeling isolated. Forgotten. The only thing she can rely on is the numbness she finds within the cool and comforting ocean waves. If only she weren’t stuck at Fathoms—a new group therapy home that promises a second chance at life. But what’s the point of living if her soul is destined to bleed?
Merrick may be San Francisco’s golden boy, but he wants nothing more than to escape his controlling father. When his younger sister’s suicide attempt sends Merrick to his breaking point, escape becomes the only option. If he can find their mom, everything will be made right again—right?
When their worlds collide, all three will do whatever it takes to survive, and Coral might even catch a prince in the process. But what—and who—must they leave behind for life to finally begin?
Taking a new twist on Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved—yet tragic—fairy tale, Coral explores mental health from multiple perspectives, questioning what it means to be human in a world where humanity often seems lost.
This was the first book I read after coming back from my honeymoon where I stayed in the Little Mermaid rooms at Disney World. I had requested it before we went away and I just didn’t get around to it before we left but I am so glad I made it a priority. This book is amazing. I feel like I related to each and every one of the characters in some way. I loved how touching and serious this book is as it covers mental illness and how it is viewed in society. My favorite part was how all of the stories tied together into one.
The one thing I will say is, please be cautious of the trigger warning that the author gives in the front of the book. While I was in a good place while reading this, if I had not been I could have been triggered by some of the things in this book.
Have you read Coral yet? Do you plan to? Let me know!
So just a fair warning, I definitely don’t think I have a list of ten things for y’all today but I have noticed a few differences in my reading habits so I wanted to mark them down. Most of them have to do with book blogging which makes sense.
I’ve started reading more series than I used to which ties into the next one. ..
I’ve started reading a lot more fantasy than I used to.
I actually try and keep track of what books I read when.
I make TBRs since making my blog.
I buy a lot more books than I think I ever have since starting a book blog. I guess it’s FOMO?
Sorry this was so short y’all but those are the main differences I’ve noticed in the last few months. Let me know what your recent changes have been!!
I’m back with another tag! It may feel like winter where I live but it’s still fall so I figured I would get this up quick! Thanks Leelynn for the tag!

Tag a bunch of people to do this tag!
Even though it doesn’t have a happy ending, one of the books I always go back to is Handle With Care.
I feel like I’ve talked about this so much so I am going to try to find one I haven’t used yet.
Oof. I hate “scary” books but I read a lot of mystery / crime novels? One I really liked that I read a while ago is
I feel so deeply for the Queen of Hearts in this book.
Even though I cry at literally everything, I don’t tend to cry over books? So I don’t have one for this.
LGBT princess. That’s all I’ve got to say.
uhhhhhhhh Honestly most of my really anticipated books come out this winter but The How & The Why recently came out and it was amazing so check that one out.
And there we go. As seems to be the running theme for tags this november, I am tagging whoever would like to do this one! Enjoy y’all!!
