How Devour Books with Dana Started

I’ve always loved reading. In high school, I was supposed to meet with my teacher to discuss the book I read during SSR and I was reading so much that she couldn’t meet with me every book. I constantly had a library pass in my hand, to the point where they gave me a laminated one and I just wrote on it with dry erase. But this blog didn’t happen because any of that. This blog started because at 4am or so one night, my best friend called me and asked me to tell her a story. And my mind went blank. So the next morning I started looking up books to read her if she needed that again or even books I could read, And that’s how I found book blogs and decided to make my own.

Two Pieces Of Advice For Book Bloggers

2.)  Keep organized

I personally keep a planner to write down what ARCS I have, when they are due, when I plan to post what and when I plan to write it out. I also keep my books separated by to-read, currently reading, library books and books I own and have or haven’t read. I will be doing a post on this hopefully in September but if not definitely in October.

Also sometimes the WordPress document creator doesn’t work for me when I’m at home on my wifi, I’m not sure why. I’ve found a way around it by connecting to my phone hotspot loading a open document page and then connecting back to my wifi. But if I don’t have data or something like that, I have a 8 page Word document on my laptop where I type up the post and then I only have to format, copy and paste when I am at the library or get WordPress to work.

2.) Don’t be afraid to interact! (Most important)

Please, please don’t be afraid to start reaching out to other bloggers. See something on their upcoming TBR you want to read? Say something! You can ask to buddy-read or even just say you plan on reading it soon too and can’t wait to see what they think! Have you read a book on their upcoming TBR? Tell them if you thought it was good!! If they talk about a book and what they say makes you want to read it or not, tell them that too!!!

Make a twitter!! It is so much easier to connect with others right away on twitter. Lastly, don’t be afraid to ask questions!! You can ask Leelynn, I still ask her questions almost every day about how to do something on WordPress or twitter or even what something means or how to get involved in the community.

People I am tagging… No pressure and sorry if you’ve done this already
